The University of Iowa is home of the world renowned Writers' Workshop, and Iowa City, Iowa is the world's third "City of Literature".  Famous alumni and faculty of the Writers' Workshop have won every major literary award including many Pulitzer Prizes.  Here is a list of recipients of the Pulitzer Prize including composer David Lang, a former student in the University of Iowa School of Music:0
